Holistic Small Groups
|
Holistic small groups are disciple-making communities that endeavor to reach the unchurched, meet individual needs, develop each person according to his or her God-given gifts, and raise leaders to sustain the growth of the church. Like healthy body cells, holistic small groups are designed to grow and multiply. No matter the denomination, size, or style of a church, holistic small groups are the smallest building block of the church’s structure. They contain the DNA of the rest of the church. Small groups are the places where people connect relationally with one another for spiritual growth. It is the context for their both knowing others and being known; the place where they seek to know God in the context of a small community of believers. Small groups are an essential microcosm of the healthy, local church. Ensuring the health of these groups helps to position and enable the other aspects of the church's life and ministry. © Natural Church Development, used by permission |
