LEGACY for Ministry

July 1, 2011

Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ), Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec (CBWOQ) and Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) are pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Tim Medhurst as coordinator of the Legacy for Ministry program in central Canada.  In this position Tim succeeds Meghan McIntosh, who pioneered and developed the Legacy for Ministry position on behalf of the three partner organizations.

Tim has been a pastor in the CBOQ for many years, and has also served with CBM in Bolivia for one term in the mid 1980s.  He has also been a business owner and is an accomplished artist.  Tim recently retired from pastoral ministry and now lives in Fonthill, ON with his wife Marlene.  They are members at Fonthill Baptist Church.  Tim will assume responsibility for the Legacy for Ministry program on July 1, 2011.   Also working with Tim as volunteer presenters of the Legacy for Ministry workshops are George and Nancy Bell and John Szeto.

LEGACY for Ministry™ is a program that has been developed by the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada Foundation and graciously made available for use across Canada by Canadian Baptist denominations and organizations. In Ontario and Quebec, the Legacy for Ministry program is jointly funded and administered by CBOQ, CBWOQ and CBM.  Legacy for Ministry encourages all members of Canadian Baptist churches, as a part of their Christian stewardship, to have a current will and to designate a portion of their estate to the support of Christian ministry through their local church, denomination, and/or Canadian Baptist ministry organizations.  For more information on the Legacy for Ministry program, or to schedule a workshop in your church, please contact Tim at 1-866-512-8911 or e-mail him at legacy@baptist.ca
