4. Strengthen relationships and identity Encourage our sense of shared relationship and identity as Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec. We intentionally celebrate our diversity.

Our Long-term Goals
The Board has identified the following four goal areas, with objectives, as the focus of our ministry for staff and volunteers. They will be reviewed yearly and modified to reflect changing realities and needs under the guidance of the Spirit.
1. Transforming Leaders Develop and support highly competent ministry leaders through provision of training, personal growth and support initiatives.
Objectives:

Recruit – identify, affirm and retain Christ-like, competent leaders.

Equip – provide the tools for vital effectiveness in ministry leadership.

Assess – evaluate the suitability of ministry leaders to assist in effective placement in specific ministry settings. Special attention will be given to assessing qualities needed for special focus ministries such as turn-around churches or church planting.

Develop – provide resources to support the capacity and skills of our leaders. Build structures to enhance the emotional, spiritual, intellectual and physical health of our leaders. Insure the intentional inclusion of female leaders and leaders from our diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Yield Fruit – consistently affirm the missional identity and achievement of our leaders. Implement methods to multiply these effective ministry approaches.
2. Transforming Churches Focus resource and equipping opportunities on developing passionate, mission-minded, thriving congregations.
Objectives:

Assist our churches to assess and enhance their health and growth.

Assist our churches to find and develop resources and leadership for issues related to their mission and ministry to their community.

Research and acquire custom resources from member churches and other organizations that would be effective tools for others.

Support and enable our churches in important transitions.

Assist our churches to develop effective strategies in Christian education and spiritual formation for all age groups.

Develop “turn-around” strategies for plateaued or declining churches.

Provide catalytic events for churches/youth within CBOQ.

Provide resources to encourage local churches in their financial sustainability.
3. Transforming Communities Stimulate engagement in holistic mission locally and globally.
Objectives:

Encourage and assist churches to grow missionally.

Enhance and facilitate CBOQ becoming a church planting movement.

Develop global awareness, involvement and participation in holistic mission, encouraging both evangelism and social justice responses.

Strengthen outreach ministries of both rural and urban churches.

Provide a comprehensive mission focus for CBOQ Youth.

Encourage churches to work as partners.

Help churches to learn from one another’s effective ministries and challenges.

Encourage churches and ministries to be involved in compassion and justice responses.
4. Facilitating our Vision and Mission Providing and enabling strong support for the work we do together.
Objectives:

Encourage prayerfulness in all we do.

Build a stronger network of CBOQ member churches, leaders, Associations and partners and celebrate our ministry as a family.

Develop and celebrate our unique Christian identity and contribution as Baptists.
-
Provide high quality events which foster relationships, as well as an increased commitment to our shared goals and identity.

Raise solid financial support for the work we do together.

Facilitate and encourage healthy stewardship.

Communicate our story well.
-
Support and enable Associations to work effectively.
