Clark Pinnock

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clark Harold Pinnock on August 15, 2010. He was professor emeritus McMaster Divinity College, husband of Dorothy, father of Sarah, grandfather to Clare and Zora, beloved teacher, friend and mentor to many. We lost the Clark we knew and loved to a sudden downturn with Alzheimer’s but he was never lost to God in whose loving care we commit him.

Clark was a brilliant thinker, a humble and gracious kingdom servant, a loving husband and father, and a dear friend. Through his writings, teachings and personal relationships he impacted people around the globe.

His character is best revealed in the concluding words of his book Flame of Love: A theology of the Holy Spirit.  He wrote, "Theology does not depend on any single theologian. Truth will yield its secrets to the body of Christ if we will listen to God and to one another accepting correction. God bless you, my dear readers. May a gift be imparted to you. May the wind of God blow on you, may the Spirit draw you closer to God's loving heart. May Father, Son and Spirit make their home in you."

A service of remembrance will be held at Little Bethel Community Church ( 320 Paling Ave. N, Hamilton) on Thursday, August 19 at 7:00 p.m.
