Rev. Richard McTavish
Rev. Richard McTavish has gone home with the Lord on July 9, 2010. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his beloved wife, Joan and his family members as we rejoice in his homecoming.
Visitation will be held tomorrow July 13, Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Homes, “Dublin Chapel” ( 252 Dublin Street North, Guelph). The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Guelph, on July 14, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. (255 Woolwich Street, Guelph).
Richard served at Hagersville, Iona Station, Walkerton, Paisley, Flesherton, and served on the Board of Camp Hermosa. He was active and well known to the Owen Sound Association. He will be remembered for his humble spirit, joyful service to the Lord and his sense of humour. Please remember his loved ones in your prayers at this time.
Rev. Dr. Herbert Cockburn
Rev. Herbert Cockburn passed away on May 22. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Violet. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his children and all other family members as we rejoice in his homecoming.
Herbert served at Upton and Lucas Grove, Kentucky; FBC, Paris, Kentucky; Banfield, Buenos Aires, Argentina; Immanuel Baptist, Madrid, Spain; FBC, Richmond, Virginia; Salem Baptist, Virginia; and Kipling Avenue Baptist, Toronto.
The funeral service will be held at the Monk Funeral Home (127 Main Street, Minden, Ontario) at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 with interment to follow in the cemetery beside Maple Lake United Church (10961 Hwy. 118 and Stanhope Airport Road in the Stanhope Township, Haliburton).

Rev. C. Roden Evans
Rev. Roden Evans passed away peacefully yesterday on May 16 at age 92. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his spouse, Winnifred and all other family members as we rejoice in his homecoming.
Roden served at Beachville; Salford; Olivet Baptist, Toronto; Maitland St. Baptist, London; FBC, Woodstock; West End United Baptist, Halifax; Woodbine Heights Baptist, Toronto; and as Interim Pastor at FBC, Ingersoll.
Visitation will be held tomorrow, May 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Longworth Funeral Home (845 Devonshire Ave., Woodstock).
The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Woodstock (603 Adelaide Street, Woodstock) on May 19 at 11 a.m.

Rev. James Lewis
Rev. Jim Lewis passed away in his home on April 19th with his wife, Sheila, at his side. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his family and friends as we rejoice in his homecoming.
Jim served at Hagersville Baptist Church; West Lorne and Rodney Baptist Churches; Sparta-First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Churches, and Dutton-Iona Station Baptist Churches until his retirement in 2002. He served as interim pastor at several churches while teaching in a secondary school and working with Youth for Christ. Jim also served as a chaplain in England during the first Gulf War.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 22, at Sifton Funeral Home (118 Wellington St, St. Thomas) from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held at 1:30 pm, Friday, April 23, at Centre Street Baptist Church (Centre and Southwick Streets, St. Thomas).

Rev. Elmer Shaw
Rev. Elmer Preston Shaw passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on March 30th at age 90. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family members as we rejoice in his homecoming.
Elmer served at Boisseuain-Ninea, Manitoba; Shaunavon, Saskatchewan; and Tiverton-Glamis, Ontario.
Visitation will be today, April 1st from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, April 2nd from 7 to 9 p.m. at Logan Funeral Home (81 James Street, Parry Sound).
The memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Parry Sound (1 McMurray Street) on April 3, Saturday at 11 a.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the First Baptist Church, Belvedere Heights, or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

Rev. Dr. Stanley W. Hibbins
Rev. Dr. Stanley W. Hibbins was called home to glory on March 29, 2010. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family members as we rejoice in his homecoming. He is survived by his wife, Winifred, and two children.
Stan served at Grace Baptist Church, Windsor; Inniswood Baptist Church, Barrie; First Baptist Church, North Bay. He volunteered in various areas in CBOQ (then BCOQ) and gave significant leadership in Credentials and Ministerial Resources. In addition, he served diligently as an Area Minister for 10 years.
Visitation will be held on April 4, Sunday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and April 5, Monday, at 12 noon at First Baptist Church, Barrie (550 Grove St. E.) The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Gwen Ford
Gwen Ford passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, Brantford, on Thursday, March 11, 2010, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Dr. Murray Ford, Gwen will be greatly missed by her children Don (Sheila), Margaret (Rhea) and Jane (Terry), grandsons Michael (Victoria), Davis and Gregory, and great-grandson Holden.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre for their care and compassion. Honouring Gwen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Gwen's life will take place on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Cattel, Eaton & Chambers Funeral Home (53 Main Street, Dundas). Donations to St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre (Lilac Lane) Nurses Education Fund, 99 Wayne Gretzky Pkwy, Brantford, Ontario, N3S 6T6, would be appreciated by the family. www.catteleatonandchambers.ca
Gwen was a bookkeeper before marrying Murray, and was involved in the Baptist Women of churches that she served alongside her husband at Hillsburgh Baptist Church, Hillsburgh, Baptist Church of the Redeemer in Brooklyn, New York; and Park Road Baptist Church which was amalgamated with Yorkminster Baptist Church during his ministry in Toronto. She was an active member of Dundas Baptist Church, and a friend and supporter of many students at McMaster Divinity College, where Dr. Ford served for 27 years as Professor of Christian Ministries.

Marjorie Rust (nee Fillingham)
With sadness we share the news that Marjorie Rust, former wife of Rev. Malcolm Rust, died on Friday 26th February 2010. She died at Marian Villa, London, Ontario where she has been cared for in recent years. They have given her excellent care!
A memorial service will be held at Westview Baptist Church (1000 Wonderland Rd. S., London) on Saturday 13th March at 11 a.m.
Marjorie was born in the village of Luddington, Lincolnshire, England. Following her marriage to Rev. Malcolm Rust she spent a year at the European Baptist Theological Seminary, Switzerland. As a pastor’s wife she served Baptist churches in the Isle of Man, Oxfordshire, Cape Breton, Toronto and London, Ontario. She served as a secretary, Middlesex-London Health Unit until retirement in 1998.

Mrs. Fanshun Watts
February 24, 2010: we report the passing of Mrs. Fanshun Watts, the wife of Rev. Dr. Ronald F. Watts Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the family members as we rejoice in her homecoming. She is survived by her husband and three children.
The memorial service will be held on March 8, Monday, at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church (340 Rebecca St., Oakville).
Fanshun was her husband’s support and encouragement as he faithfully served at Bonnie Doon Baptist, Edmonton, Alberta; James Street, Hamilton; Calvary Baptist, Weyburn, Saskatchewan; Baptist Leadership Training School, Calgary, Alberta and as the General Secretary of CBOQ.
